CXO talk with Mr. Abhay Batra – Co-founder, Clovia

The Centre for Corporate Relations (CCR) at BIMTECH organized an insightful CXO session with Mr. Abhay Batra, Co-founder and CFO of Clovia, a leading fashion-tech brand.

A Chartered Accountant by profession and entrepreneur by passion, Mr Abhay Batra highlighted the key points covering how improvement is not a function of perfect hits- it works when you give all the worth-it trials. This, inspired students to know how every trial is important in their life.

He discussed his vision to disrupt the lingerie industry by focusing on availability and accessibility, explaining how Clovia evolved from a desktop website to a leading app-based platform. This helped students understand the transformation and importance of technology with growing world.

By 2016, Clovia had opened its first offline store and today operates 90 exclusive brand outlets, including 15 in Delhi. He also spoke about the use of AI in product design and inventory management, Clovia’s pivot to PPE kit manufacturing during COVID-19, and the creation of vendor financing facilities to support small partners.

In 2022, Reliance acquired Clovia, enabling rapid expansion with this great opportunity they got in the bigger market and got recognition with the world’s one of the biggest brand. Mr. Batra stressed that organic and guerrilla marketing often outperform heavy spending, stating, “Spending a lot of money doesn’t ensure success. What works is organic connection and doing things the right way.” Thus, this helped our students understand the marketing domain and all the aspects associated with marketing.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions about entrepreneurship, product innovation, and brand building. His practical insights helped them understand the real-world application of business concepts and the mindset needed to create impact.

The session concluded with an inspiring message:
“The only difference between success and no success is doing.”

Overall, the talk was an enriching experience that motivated students to think boldly, innovate fearlessly, and lead with purpose.
